Chairman’s Award: 100 American team members celebrate commitment to care

American Airlines took over the Perot Museum in Dallas Tuesday to honor a select group of individuals who routinely go above and beyond to take care of customers and fellow team members.

One hundred team members from across the airline were recognized at the annual Chairman's Award celebration for their contributions to training and development, leadership, volunteering, customer care and other areas of achievement.

“The Chairman’s Award is meant to recognize those who are the cream of the crop – people who do amazing things on behalf of our customers, of each other, of American Airlines,” CEO Doug Parker said.

The honorees won the quarterly Chairman’s Award in 2018, and then officers selected the top 100 team members to be celebrated at the annual event.

“My favorite part of the Chairman’s Award process was how we were cared for from the very beginning, from the time we left our home until the event,” said Captain Linda Pauwels, a Check Airman based at DFW and 2018 Chairman’s Award honoree.

The Perot was a unique backdrop for the celebration, with guests dancing and eating courses prepared by Wolfgang Puck Catering.
