Big Win at the Freddies: American Airlines AAdvantage Named Best Elite Program for the Americas

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — For the eighth time, American Airlines AAdvantage® was named Best Elite Program for the Americas at the Freddie Awards, one of the most prestigious honors for loyalty programs in the travel industry.

“AAdvantage is proud to win Best Elite Program for the Americas at the Freddies, and we’re thankful to all of our loyal members who voted for us,” said Bridget Blaise-Shamai, President of the AAdvantage program and Vice President of Customer Loyalty and Insights for American. “Receiving this award is a testament to all of the hard work our team members do to create a program that provides our members what they value most in a loyalty program.”

This year’s Freddie Awards was held in American’s newly renovated CR Smith Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. The CR Smith Museum preserves the history of flight and shows what it takes to run an airline through the perspective of the team members who support American each and every day. The CR Smith museum is committed to educating its visitors through hands-on, interactive learning exhibits like a real-time look at every American plane in the air and the opportunity to run an operations center.

Since 1988, the Freddie Awards have recognized achievements in the travel loyalty industry in the Americas; Europe and Africa; the Middle East and Asia/Oceania. The awards, which honor both airline and hotel loyalty programs, are based entirely on votes from travelers across the world. This year, more than 7 million online votes were cast.
